Get rid of glue

While glue can be a great tool for woodworking projects, cleaning it up is quite an art. While rubbing glue on your hands can remove excess glue, soak your work in sawdust to prevent wood swelling. Avoid rubbing wet glue onto your work as it can cause it to swell when it is finished. Instead, use sawdust to act as a barrier between the wood and the glue.

Story sticks

Accuracy in measuring is one of the most important tricks for woodworking using story sticks. You can use a story stick to help you identify any obstructions that may be preventing your base cabinet placement. This includes walls, plumbing, wiring, and other obstacles. These obstructions can be used to help you plan where your cabinets should go. A story stick is a great template that can help you make your projects simpler. You can make woodworking more enjoyable by using story sticks.

Dovetail jig

Woodworking is a vast field that includes many tools, including the dovetail jig. It allows you to create many different types and styles of joints with one tool. The jig is versatile enough to be used for both inside and out dovetails. It's made of sturdy materials and won’t overheat even when used heavily. It is available in many different styles. FAQ

What's the difference between plywood vs particle board?

Plywood is made of layers of wood that are pressed together under pressure. Plywood comes in several thicknesses and is commonly used for cabinets and flooring. Particle board consists of sawdust mixed and resin. The resin is then compressed into large blocks. It's often used for home renovation projects. Both types are sturdy and easy to cut.

How to make wood joint

This tutorial will teach you how to join two pieces wood together. We will use the pocket hole joint, which is drilling holes in the wood to join them. This works well if the wood is straight and smooth. Try dowel joinery instead if your wood doesn't look straight. These are the steps

  1. Drill Pocket Hole Joints. First, measure the area where you wish to place the pocket joint. You will then drill 3/4" deep holes through each piece of wood with a jigsaw, handheld drilling machine, or hand-held drill.
  2. Sand Smooth. Sanding the wood's edges will help ensure that the joint won't split later.
  3. Glue Together Apply glue on both sides of the wooden plank. Let the wood sit for 5 minutes, then clamp it together.
  4. Connect the pieces. After the glue has dried thoroughly, secure the pieces so that they are flush.
  5. Trim Joinery. Trimming the joinery after glue has completely dried.

Make sure to leave enough room between the pieces so that you can turn them inside and out.
